Whiskey Smash

Everyone give a big hello to Mint Julep’s cousin, Whiskey Smash. Although the two are clearly related, there are a couple of differences: (1) a Whiskey Smash requires muddling a lemon wedge and (2) the ratios of its ingredients are different from a Mint Julep.

Ingredients

• 3 lemon wedges
• 2 ounces Knob Creek bourbon
• 3/4 ounce simple syrup
• 4 mint leaves
• Garnish: mint sprig

Steps

1. Muddle the lemon wedges in a shaker.
2. Add bourbon, simple syrup, mint leaves and ice, and shake until well-chilled.
3. Double-strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice.
4. Garnish with a mint sprig.
