Grasshopper
This green delight is a combination of several ingredients. The creme de menthe, which comes in green or white (get green) is a liqueur made of mint leaves or extract, which is added to neutral spirits; after that, it’s filtered, sweetened, lightly aged, and bottled. The next ingredient, white creme de cacao, is a sweet, chocolate-flavored liqueur. Add heavy cream to these, and you have a cocktail that is most definitely a noteworthy dessert.
Ingredients
- 1 ounce green crème de menthe
- 1 ounce white crème de cacao
- 2 ounces heavy cream
- Garnish: freshly grated nutmeg (optional)
Steps
- Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice and shake vigorously until well-chilled.
- Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
- Grate nutmeg over the top of the drink, if desired.
